Course registration (Form B): choosing your courses for the year
The screen where a university student picks the courses to sit this year and sends them to the school for approval.
Form B is the registration form used by university students. It is the one page where you choose which courses you will sit for the coming term, and where the school checks those choices before the year starts. Open it from Form B in the sidebar.
The page reads in two halves. At the top, a New application block where you pick a semester and tick your courses. Below it, My enrolled courses, which lists everything you have already sent in, each with the status the school gave it.
Two things are worth knowing before you start. Your core courses are already ticked for you and cannot be removed. And if fees are still owed, the page stops you sending anything: it says so in a banner at the top instead of failing quietly when you press the button.
Choose your courses in four steps
Reach a submitted registration the first time.
-
Step 1
Open Form B and pick your semester
Tap Form B in the sidebar, then choose a term under Semesters. The course list below switches to the courses actually taught that term.
-
Step 2
Look at the obligatory courses
They come first, already ticked and marked with a tick. You do not need to touch them, and you cannot untick them.
-
Step 3
Tick your major and minor courses
Every other course has a tick box: tap to add it, tap again to remove it. Under each title you will find the course code, the number of credits and whether it is a major or a minor course.
-
Step 4
Press Submit Form B
The button stays greyed out until at least one course is ticked. Once you send it, every course you chose appears under My enrolled courses with a Pending status until the school looks at it.
Why some courses are already ticked for you
The core subjects of your level travel with your registration. The rest are your choice.
Obligatory courses
The first block on the page is Obligatory courses: the core subjects of your level, each marked with a tick. They are selected for you as soon as you open a semester, and they stay selected.
This is on purpose. A university expects everyone in a level to sit the core subjects of that level, so the platform refuses to send a registration without them, and refuses to delete one that is already on your list. If one of them is genuinely wrong for you — a clash with another course, or a subject you have already passed elsewhere — the honest fix is a word with the registrar, not an empty tick box.
Major and minor courses
Everything else is yours to decide. Major courses belong to your main field. Minor courses are the optional subjects you add from a neighbouring field. Each line prints the course code, the number of credits and which of the two it is, so you can compare two courses before choosing.
A course already registered cannot be ticked twice. If you have already sent a selection for that semester, the tick box is greyed out and the line is marked already registered. To take a course back out, use the bin icon on its row further down the page.
Pay your fees before you can send the form
The banner at the top of the page tells you the whole story.
What the banner says
At the very top of Form B you will find one of three things. If fees are due on your file and nothing has been paid yet, a red banner says the form is locked until your fee balance is cleared. If fees are due and you have already paid part of them, an amber banner shows the balance still outstanding beside the amount expected and the amount already paid. If there are no fees on your file, no banner appears at all.
What locked actually stops
A locked form cannot be sent. The courses you have ticked stay on screen, nothing is lost, and nothing is submitted. The lock is not a warning you can click past: the same rule applies on the screen and behind it, so a locked form cannot slip through from another device or from a shared link either.
Once the balance is cleared
As soon as the school records the payment against your file, reload the page. The banner disappears and the submit button behaves normally. You also receive a notification, so you do not have to keep checking. If the payment was made at the counter and the banner is still there the next day, ask the school office to confirm the receipt reference against your file.
Courses you failed come back on their own
Nobody has to remind you to repeat a subject you did not pass.
Carry-over courses
If you failed a course, you do not have to go looking for it. When you open a semester, the failed subjects appear by themselves in a block called Carry-over courses, each one showing the average you got — for example, failed with 7.5/20.
Tick the ones you want to sit again. A carry-over course is recorded as a repetition, so it is treated differently from a fresh choice and it is labelled Carry-over in the list below.
What happens to your choices afterwards
When you press submit, each course lands in My enrolled courses with a Pending status. The school reviews the registration and moves it to Approved, or sends it back with a reason. Read your selection once more before you press the button, because removing a course afterwards means using the bin icon on its row.
Check the semester before you check the courses. The buttons under Semesters decide which courses you are offered and which rows of the list below are shown. Choosing the wrong term is the most common reason a registration comes back for correction.

-
Why can’t I untick an obligatory course?
Because the core subjects of your level must be on every registration for that level. The page therefore ticks them for you, will not submit without them, and will not let you delete one. If a course really should not be on your file this year, tell the school office — they can correct it from their side.
-
It says Form B is locked. What do I do?
The banner means fees are due on your file and nothing has been paid against them yet. Clear the balance at the school counter or by mobile money, then reload the page: the banner disappears and the submit button works again. Your ticked courses stay on screen while you wait, so you will not have to choose everything a second time.
-
Do I have to redo a course I failed?
Only if you want to pass it. The failed subjects appear on their own under Carry-over courses, each with the average you got. Tick the ones you choose to sit again and they are recorded as repetitions, labelled Carry-over in your list. Leaving them unticked simply means you are not repeating them this term.
-
I submitted my Form B. What does Pending mean?
It means your choices are recorded and waiting for the school to look at them. Nothing is wrong with the file. The status changes to Approved once the registrar accepts it, or the registration comes back to you with a reason. You will be notified either way, so you do not need to open the page every day.
