My certificates: the record of what you finished

Every course you completed that gives one appears here, with its serial code and a download.

My certificates is where finished courses turn into something you can hold. Each certificate is a single card carrying the title of the course, the name of the certificate design it uses, and a serial code — a short string of characters that identifies your copy and nobody else’s. If the certificate is ready to be printed, the card also has a download button.

There is no button to press to earn one. A certificate appears when you finish every lesson of a course that the school has decided to certify. Until then this page stays empty, and that is not a failure — it simply means the work is not finished.

Parents see the same page for each child attached to their account, which is often the moment a certificate earns its keep: an application, a scholarship, a CV.

Get and download a certificate in four steps

Finish the course, then take the copy with you.

  • Step 1

    Finish every lesson

Work through the course and mark each lesson complete. The certificate is tied to a finished course, not to a percentage of one.

  • Step 2

    Open My certificates

Tap My Certificates in the menu. Your certificate is there under the title of the course it belongs to.

  • Step 3

    Read the serial code

Write the code down before you do anything else. It is the quickest way for anyone to check that a certificate is genuinely yours.

  • Step 4

    Download the PDF

Tap the download button on the card. The file opens in a new tab or lands in your downloads, ready to print, save or attach to an application.

What earns a certificate

Two conditions, and both are decided by the school rather than by you.

The course has to be finished

Every lesson in the course must be marked complete. Not “most of them”: the last one too. The moment the final lesson is ticked, the course counts as finished and the certificate becomes available. There is no waiting period and no request to fill in — it simply appears.

The course has to give one

Not every course issues a certificate. The school decides this per course, because some courses are short refresher sessions and some are full programmes worth a paper. If a course you finished does not appear here, that is the reason: there is no certificate for it.

Each copy has its own code

Your certificate carries a serial code, printed on the document itself. Two learners who finish the same course get two different codes, because the code identifies the copy and not the course. Keep it: it is the one detail that makes your certificate checkable rather than merely printable.

Downloading it and keeping it

The download is a PDF. What you do with it is up to you.

On a phone

Tap the download button and the file opens. On a phone, save it to your files or your downloads rather than closing the tab, because closing the tab does not remove the certificate — it only removes the open copy.

Printing and sharing

Because it is a PDF, it prints the same way on any printer and can be attached to an email or an online application without changing size or layout. The certificate carries the name of the school and the design your school laid out, so it looks like something from your own school rather than from a website.

If the page is empty

Two ordinary reasons, and one you can fix yourself. If a course is still in progress, keep going — the certificate arrives on its own at the end. If a course is finished but nothing has appeared, the school has not set a certificate design for that course, and that is a question for the school office rather than for your screen.

A course that issues one but shows no button

Rare, but worth knowing: the download button only appears when the certificate is actually ready to render. If the course is finished and the card is there but the button is not, wait a moment and reload — the first download also issues the certificate for the first time.

Where a certificate comes from

The two pages worth having open next to this one.

  • Finish the work

    My courses

The course list with your progress circle. A full circle on a course that certifies means a certificate is on its way to this page.

  • School marks

    Results and report cards

A certificate proves you finished a course; your report card proves what you scored at school. Both are asked for at different moments.

Certificate questions

Asked by families collecting proof for an application.

  • I finished a course but got no certificate. Why?

Most courses are short sessions and the school only certifies full programmes. If your course does not issue one, there is nothing waiting and nothing to claim. Ask the school office whether a certificate design exists for that course — if it does, they can attach it and it will appear on your page.

  • What is the serial code for?

It identifies your copy of the certificate rather than the course. Anyone checking your document can compare the code printed on it with your page and see that it is the one issued to you, and that it has not been copied from someone else.

  • Can I download the same certificate twice?

Yes, as many times as you like, and every copy is identical and carries the same serial code. There is no one-time download to lose — but it is worth saving the file somewhere safe rather than relying on the browser history.

  • Does a parent see the certificates?

Yes, for each child attached to their account, one child at a time. Choose the child at the top of the page and their certificates replace the list. A parent with two children at university can therefore download both sets without touching the learner’s account.
